Two new-ish options for Chinese dining East of Seattle

An explosive new dining option has burst onto the scene at Bellevue Crossroads, nourishing East Bellevue residents with crackling fried chicken, bubbling Portuguese egg tarts and refreshing fruit teas. So Tasty opened in November in a plaza off NE 8th Street. Their wide range of options is impressive yet the dry fried chicken wings seem the key to their success. With upcoming Seattle restaurant week So Tasty has added Portuguese egg tarts to the menu, which have quickly become an Instagram sensation

One more strip mall option, Famous Kitchen BBQ is located in the same plaza as Jenny Pho and the shiny new Met Market in Issaquah. Expect traditional Cantonese BBQ options. Char siu, roast pork, roast duck. Steam up some rice at home and order by the pound or snag a combo to sample their roasts. Other Cantonese classics like congee and simple stir fry dishes round out the shop’s offerings. Issaquah’s now-robust dining scene has ramped up in recent years with the addition of hot spots like Dough Zone and Madras Dosa Corner.
