Los Angeles Sushi heavy-hitter lands in South Lake Union
Amid a harsh time for restaurant owners, Sushi by Katsu-ya begins hiring for their space on Westlake Ave.
Signage went up mid-August, as documented by Sushi Katsu-ya’s Facebook Page
A Craigslist ad last week alerted hungry diners to the development of the first Seattle outpost of popular Southern California-based micro-chain Sushi Katsu-ya.
Located near the intersection of Westlake and Denny, this opening is notable as ongoing virus precautions have rendered the office-heavy neighborhood of SLU desolate. Amazon even pledged to help support businesses in the area that were hit hard by diminished foot traffic.
However, signage is up and management seems to be moving forward with hiring.
The Katsu-ya brand is known for ritzy outposts in trendy areas like Downtown Manhattan Beach and West Hollywood. Their fare should fit well into the upscale tech-hub.
